Following growing concerns in Liberia and abroad over the sudden disappearance of a youth and student activist Martin Kollie, his father broke silence on Thursday that his son was kidnapped on Wednesday by unknown men during the centennial graduation program of the University of Liberia. Rev Kollie told media outlets on Thursday that prior to the disappearance of Martin Kollie, some unknown men who were in possession of deadly weapons including knives and guns came after his son. The father of Martin Kollie has meanwhile, expressed optimism that his son is alive and will be found.
Speaking on the protest scheduled for December 30 by the Council of Patriots, Rev. Kollie then clarified that he is not aware of his son being a part of any “ Weah Step down” campaign. He added, “My son has committed no crime against the state or President George Weah and as such, his stance on national issues should be respected.”
